CORPAL GROUP DOES IN CORDOBA, THE FIRST CASE IN A PRIVATE HOSPITAL, A TECHNIQUE FOR ABLATION OF ATRIAL FLUTTER.
The ablation of arrhythmic substrates can be the definitive treatment for many cardiac rhythm disorders. Atrial flutter is a common arrhythmia that has been treated for more than 20 years by electrophysiological study and radiofrequency ablation. This achieves a blocking line that prevents the circuit responsible for the tachycardia from being maintained.
This treatment has been carried out at the Red Cross Hospital for 6 years. However, improvements have been made to the technique to increase safety and efficacy.
CORPAL Cardiolumen Group has performed the curative treatment of atrial flutter using a new technique using the DIAMOND TEMP catheter, which is a radiofrequency catheter irrigated with a diamond tip that allows greater control of the temperature and a more effective application in the area, achieving a deeper ablation line but with greater security, having a more adequate control of the temperature that reaches the tissue where the radiofrequency is applied. In our first patient, the technique was successful with a shorter duration of the intervention.
The success of the technique was achieved with a shorter duration of the intervention.
This novel technique is the first time it has been performed in a private hospital in Andalusia.
